Purvis is one of several humans who have been kidnapped by the crew of the Betty while in cryosleep and delivered to the Auriga to serve as hosts for the Aliens. Despite having an Alien growing inside him, Purvis joins the surviving protagonists in an attempt to escape the Auriga.

Elgyn brings the Betty to the Auriga in order to sell kidnapped humans in cryostasis to General Perez. Humans are held until the emerging Face Huggers lay an embryo, Purvis is one of the kidnapped humans released after the aliens escape, Purvis joins the protagonists in their attempt to flee the ship but is killed by an emerging Chest Burster, but before he dies he holds on to Wren and the emerging Chest Burster kills him and Wren at the same time.
