Plot
Originally published in 1980 by Task Force Games as one of their Pocket Game series, "Intruder" is a 1 to 3 player science-fiction game of terror and suspense aboard a deep space station.
A digital boardgame conversion for BGE of Intruder designed by Dennis Sustare, simulates the action in the movie Alien.
Intruder is set in the near future, on the Deep Space Station Prometheus, orbiting the star Sigma Draconis. An exploratory team brings back an alien life form, and is directed to keep the creature alive for study. When the creature escapes from the lab, this directive proves to be a deadly mistake.
Gameplay
The game's basic situation pits an increasingly deadly and hostile alien creature running loose in the reaches of a large starship while a slowly dwindling crew attempts to come up with something to stop it. The game treats this as a solitaire situation, a player controls the crew, while the actions of the lntruders are governed by dice rolls.
The game's map is a display representing the space station Prometheus, a three-armed configuration of corridors and rooms branching out from a central command module.
The gameboard includes a plan view of the Station (this is the main playing area) and two Shuttles. The player acts as the Commander of the station. He has at his disposal the crew (consisting of 9 men and women, including the Commander) along with various weapons and equipment.
