3DPrometheusgods12

Linked with Featured 1;
Prometheus like many films produced recently will be

principally available in 3D, with standard DVD and Blu-ray versions also available. Available in cinemas in standard high resolution, 'Real D' 3D and IMAX.

Modern facilities are capable of producing 3D with standard images and films, using Stereoscopy, Autostereoscopy, Side-by-side, ColourCode and Linearly Polarized systems and techniques, producing images and films that are equivalent to software studio quality.

Director

Roger Christian, art director on the first Alien, speculated that the

film would be shot in 3-D, which was eventually confirmed by Ridley Scott. Since 3-D films need high lighting levels on set, which is the hallmark atmosphere of the Alien films being predominantly dark, darkness and shadows can then be added in post-production through grading processes, while the 3-D equipment being based on post-Avatar technology.

Filming

Principal photography began in March 2011 using Red Epic cameras

fitted with Element Technica Atom 3D rigs in the production of Prometheus, the whole film is being shot in 3D rather than the effects being added in post-production.
