Name

Dropships are a troop carriers for the U.S.C.M.s.

An U.S.C.M. Dropship is used as a surface to spacecraft shuttle, capable of transferring troops and equipment to the surface and back aboard craft. Used in combat drops on BG386, LV426 and LV1201.

A Marine in Aliens v Predator Original, Aliens v Predator Gold and Aliens v Predator Classic waits for Dropship on the landing bay of the atmosphere processor (this craft was a forward loading dropship), but in the film Aliens it is Ripley who waits for a UD4L Cheyenne Dropship piloted by Bishop.

Most Dropships can carry troops and APCs with slightly different configurations, most are smaller then UD4L Cheyennes and preform similiar roles. They differ from UD4L Cheyennes by having rear facing troop ramps for off loading and loading.

Aliens: Colonial Marines
In the last level in Aliens: Colonial Marines, Bishop pilots a Dropship off the W-Y FTL, this spacecraft appears much smaller then usual and too small to carry any APCs.
